Tide Rip - Grizzly Bear Tours

We offer day trips by water taxi from Telegraph Cove to see the Grizzlies in Knight Inlet.

Telegraph Cove is about 2 hours drive north of Campbell River on Vancouver Island BC Canada.

Grizzly Bear Tours by covered aluminum boat, seats 12 passengers with comfortable onboard washroom.
Along the way we often see Black Bears on the low tide beaches.
Knight Inlet is to the east of Telegraph Cove on the mainland (there are no grizzly bears on Vancouver Island)

Late May to the middle of June is the mating season with lots of interesting interaction. The big grizzly bears chase the not too interested females, displacing other bears along the beach. Certainly this is our favourite time of the Bear Watching season.
July is the season of the Bear Cubs scrambling along behind their mom as they first explore the shore of the Inlet. The Grizzly Mom is very protective of her cubs as she teaches them Bear survival.

In August and September Watch Grizzly Bears eat salmon, eagles pick the scraps. Sea birds, dolphins, seals, black bears, grizzlies.

We depart early at 7:00 am to assure grizzly bear sightings.
We had 97% sightings on our 2012 trips.
When we arrive at the Grizzly Bear hot spot we switch to big open skiffs to get in close to the action.
Lunch and light breakfast is included amidst the splendour of Knight Inlet.
